Tulsa Hosts NMSU, VCU for ITA College Tennis Weekend, Senior Day Sunday

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa men's tennis faces a busy weekend at home, hosting three matches as part of the inaugural ITA College Tennis Weekend. The Golden Hurricane will take on New Mexico State twice on Friday, Mar. 27, at 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., before closing the weekend against VCU on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. for Senior Day.
Sunday's match will also feature free Tulsa Tennis rally towels for the first 50 fans.

Scouting New Mexico State
- New Mexico State enters at 6-11 and is still seeking its first true road win of the 2026 season.
- The Aggies have been idle for nearly three weeks, last competing on Mar. 7 when they earned a narrow 4-3 win over Portland in Sacramento, Calif.

- VCU leads the all-time series 4-2, though the teams have not met since 2010, when Tulsa earned a 4-0 victory.

- Tulsa men's tennis (11-10) bested No. 57 Wichita State (12-8) 4-2 on Wednesday in its highest-ranked win of the season.
- The match marked just the second time this year TU rallied after dropping the doubles point to claim victory and was the first true away win for the Golden Hurricane, as they only match they previously won away from home was hosted at a neutral site.
- In doubles, Tulsa struck first but the Shockers quickly recovered. The deciding court proved tight, but WSU edged Calum Jestin and Connor Doig 6-4 to secure the doubles point.
- The Golden Hurricane bounced back in singles, with Takeshi Taco earning the first point in straight sets, 6-1, 6-4. Reiya Komagata followed with a 6-2, 6-2 win to give Tulsa a 2-1 lead, and Tosetto extended the advantage with a 6-4, 6-2 victory at the No. 6 position.
- Wichita State responded as Amir Milushe defeated Doig 6-4, 2-6, 6-0, but Volonski ultimately clinched the match for Tulsa. The Sydney, Australia native rallied for a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 win, giving him a team-high eight singles victories this season and marking his third clinching win of the year.
