Owen McCorkle is in his fifth season overall with the program.  He was named as an assistant coach prior to the 2022 campaign, after previously serving as a volunteer assistant (2019) and a graduate assistant (2020-21) for the Golden Hurricane.
 
McCorkle currently coaches field players but served as the goalkeeper coach for three years (2019-21).  During his tenure, Tulsa has recorded a 36-20-7 overall record.  McCorkle has also been instrumental in coaching 16 student-athletes to The American all-conference honors, four to all-rookie team accolades and eight to all-tournament team honors.
 
Tulsa had a 10-5-2 mark, including three wins over top-25 opponents, and made its 13th appearance in the NCAA Championship, advancing to the Third Round during the 2022 campaign.  Mariano Fazio and Alex Meinhard were both named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List, Fazio was named as a 2022 NCAA Division I Men’s All-America third team honoree and Fazio, Alex Lopez, Meinhard and Henry Sach picked up United Soccer Coaches all-East Region honors.  For the American Athletic Conference, Fazio was named the Defensive Player of the Year and Lopez was tabbed as the Goalkeeper of the Year, both for the second-straight season.  Fazio, Lopez, Meinhard and Sach earned first-team all-conference accolades and Wes Bottenburg was selected to the all-rookie team.
 
McCorkle was instrumental in coaching Lopez to Top Drawer Soccer Freshman of the Year, United Soccer Coaches all-east region team, American Athletic Conference Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Year accolades, as well as The American all-conference and all-Rookie team honors in 2021.  Lopez also finished the season ranked seventh in the nation in goals-against average (.723).
 
McCorkle has also served as a head coach for Tulsa SC since 2019, and was an assistant coach at Florida Atlantic for two seasons (2017-18). 
 
McCorkle was a four-year letterwinner at Florida Atlantic (2013-16), playing in 55 games as a defender.
 
A native of Boston, Mass., McCorkle earned his bachelor’s degree from Florida Atlantic in exercise science and health promotion in 2016, and his master’s degree in health care delivery sciences from Tulsa in 2022.
