TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Glenn Andrews scored 19 points and Ben Uzoh added 18 to lead Tulsa to an 89-51 rout of a depleted Southeast Missouri State team on Saturday.
Tulsa (6-4) jumped out to a 17-2 lead in the first six minutes and was never threatened. The Hurricane continued its shooting streak, including 13-of-24 3-pointers.
"A lot of that is just playing at home," said TU coach Doug Wojcik, whose team played five of its first six away. "I never thought we were a bad shooting team. I was more concerned about regaining our defensive swagger, which we have done."
Tulsa, which allowed both Oklahoma and Oral Roberts to shoot over 50 percent after keeping all opponents below that mark for the first two-plus years of Wojcik's career, held the Redhawks to 36.2 percent and forced 17 turnovers while amassing a 47-29 rebounding advantage.
The Redhawks (8-5) cut into a 45-27 halftime deficit with a 10-3 run to start the second half.
Andrews, a freshman guard, scored nine points and had a key steal in a 14-5 TU burst that pushed the lead back to 64-40.
Tulsa center Jerome Jordan had 16 points, eight rebounds and four blocks and Rod Earls added 13 points. Calvin Walls had 12 rebounds.
The Redhawks played without leading scorer Jaycen Herring, who was sick, and were also without reserves David Johnson (ankle) and Will Bogan, who was attending a funeral.
Brandon Foust, who began his college career at Oklahoma, led the Redhawks with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Roderick Pearson had 12 points and Michael Rembert 11.
In addition to making just 21-of-58 field goals, SEMO hurt itself by making just 6-of-18 free throws.
As a team, Tulsa is now shooting 45 percent after three consecutive games over 50 percent. TU was under 40 percent for the season before the recent hot streak.
Uzoh made 4-of-6 3-pointers and 6-of-10 shots overall to go with four rebounds, a block and a steal in 28 minutes.
