The Golden Hurricane (15-6, 6-0 C-USA) won the doubles point with a strong effort from the No. 1 team of junior Ashley Watling and sophomore Clifford Marsland, and TU captured four of the six singles matches against the highly-ranked Owls (13-7, 3-1 C-USA).

The No. 3 doubles team of junior Rusty Turpin and sophomore Grant Ive started doubles competition with an 8-3 loss to Sam Garforth-Bles and Christian Saravia.

Marsland and Watling comprise the No. 24-ranked pair in the nation, and the No. 1 tandem won four of the last five games to capture a 9-7 victory over Harry Fowler and Oscar Podlewski to secure the doubles point for Tulsa.

The Golden Hurricane jumped out to a 2-0 lead with a 6-3, 6-2 win from sophomore Tristan Jackson, but the Owls cut the deficit to 2-1 with a 1-6, 6-4, 6-0 win from Frank at the second position over No. 99-ranked De Klerk. The loss for De Klerk was his first of the season, and he is now 19-1 this season.

Tulsa pumped its lead to 3-1 following a comeback victory from Watling at the third position after he dropped Garforth-Bles 1-6, 6-3, 6-1.

The road side was again able to cut into the lead when Saravia posted a 6-4, 1-6, 7-5 win over Ive from the fifth position.

With the match hanging in the balance, Marsland came through for the home team with a 6-1, 6-7 (3-7), 6-4 win over Podlewski at the fourth position.

Arevalo, the No. 46-ranked singles player in the nation, took down No. 97-ranked Fowler 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 at the top of the lineup for an insurance point for the Golden Hurricane.

Arevalo has now won 12 of his last 14 matches.
