TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa men's basketball team opens the 2016-17 season Friday when it takes on Jacksonville State at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.
 
The game will be broadcast ESPN3.com and Big Country 99.5 FM/Golden Hurricane Radio Network. Season tickets are available by visiting the TU Athletics Ticket Office in the Reynolds Center, or by calling 918-631-GoTU.
 
The Golden Hurricane debuts a new-look team, featuring 10 newcomers and three players who have seen regular game action at TU. Head Coach Frank Haith is beginning his third year at Tulsa, and has posted a 43-23 record in two seasons.

The Series
This is the first meeting between Tulsa and Jacksonville State.
 
Quick Hits
• Tulsa won its two exhibition games, defeating Oklahoma Christian, 72-53, and Northeastern State, 84-52.
• Tulsa is playing its 106th season of basketball in 2016-17.
• Tulsa Head Coach Frank Haith is in his third season at Tulsa, and has led the Hurricane to 20 wins and a postseason appearance in each season.
• Tulsa features three players on its roster that have appeared in a game at TU – Pat Birt, TK Edogi and Sterling Taplin.

• Tulsa is playing its 19th season in the Donald W. Reynolds Center. The Reynolds Center opened December 1998, and TU has posted a 216-65 record in the building, including a 99-27 non-conference mark.
• In two seasons under Frank Haith, the Hurricane has held 54 of 66 opponents under 50 percent from the field.
