Singles Play Guides Tulsa to 4-2 Win Over North Texas

DALLAS, Texas – The University of Tulsa Women's Tennis team earned four singles wins in the heart of the lineup on Friday evening as they rallied to defeat North Texas 4-2 to improve to 6-1 on the year. The Hurricane will be back in action on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. when they host #5 Oklahoma State at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Rongrong Leenabanchong and Martha Matoula looked to keep Tulsa's chances of getting the doubles point in their match against Alexandra Heczey and Ivana Babic, but fell in a tightly contested tiebreak 7-6 (5).

The Hurricane responded by winning four of the five completed singles matches on the evening, winning at straight sets in the middle of the lineup.

Matoula earned her team-leading 14^th singles win by defeating Haruka Sasaki 6-1, 6-1, improving to 14-4 on the year.

Martina Okalova won her 11^th collegiate singles match while Leenabanchong earned a win over Tamuna Kutubize, both in identical straight set 6-2, 6-2 wins.

Mahitha Dadireddy helped secure the Tulsa win, taking a tight first set 7-5 over Alexis Thoma before earning a 6-3 second set win.
