MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Martins Igbanu scored a season-high 17 points, but Memphis went on a 25-5 run in the second half to pull away for a 76-67 win over Tulsa on Saturday afternoon at FedExForum.

Igbanu went 5-of-6 from the field and 7-of-8 from the free-throw line to pace the Golden Hurricane (10-6, 3-1). Junior Etou added 12 points to go along with six rebounds and three assists, but four other players — Corey Henderson Jr. (9), DaQuan Jeffries (9), Curran Scott (8) and Sterling Taplin (8) — neared double-figures for the visitors.

Meanwhile, Jeremiah Martin scored a career-high 28 points, 15 of which came in the second half, to lead the Tigers (10-6, 1-2). Mike Parks Jr. added 16 second-half points as Memphis became just the second TU opponent this season to shoot 50-percent.

Henderson quickly extended a 33-32 halftime lead for the Hurricane with one of his three 3-pointers and TU outscored the Tigers 11-4 after the home squad knotted the score at 38. With 11:18 to play, Etou's 3-pointer gave the Hurricane its largest lead of the night, 55-47.

However, Tulsa would not score another field goal for nearly seven minutes and Martin helped engineer the 25-5 run that put Memphis ahead for good. The junior scored 13 points in the final 10:29 and when the dust had settled, the Tigers led 72-60 with just 1:17 remaining.

Taplin hit a 3-pointer and Jaleel Wheeler scored in the final minute, but the deficit was too great as the final buzzer sounded on a 76-67 Memphis victory.

In the first half, Kyvon Davenport and Martin combined to score Memphis' first 13 points, but Tulsa went on an early 8-0 that included 3-pointers from Scott and Jeffries to grab a 17-13 advantage. Minutes later, the Tigers answered with an 8-0 spurt of their own for a 24-19 lead, their largest of the half.

But TU would hold Memphis to just one bucket over the next eight minutes and during that time, it rattled off a 14-2 run for a 33-26 cushion. Igbanu scored twice inside before Henderson Jr. and Etou each hit 3-pointers.

Memphis broke its offensive drought with back-to-back 3-pointers in the final minutes of the half to trim the TU lead to 33-32 at intermission.

Tulsa will return to the hardwood for a 6 p.m. matchup at Houston (12-3, 2-1) on Thursday, Jan. 11.
