Tulsa Volleyball Returns Home to Host Cincinnati, ECU This Weekend

TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa volleyball squad is back in the Donald W. Reynolds Center on Friday, Oct. 12 against Cincinnati and Sunday, Oct. 14 against ECU, hoping to maintain its perfect home record in 2018.
The first match pits TU (12-5, 4-1) and Cincinnati (14-4, 5-0) in a head-to-head matchup on Friday at 1 p.m. CT. The Bearcats possess a 6-3 record all-time against the Hurricane.
On Sunday, the Golden Hurricane faces off with ECU (12-4, 4-1), also set to start at 1 p.m. CT. Tulsa has dominated the previous matchups between the teams, boasting a 17-2 record all-time against ECU.
The team returns home after a trip to Florida last weekend, going 1-1 against UCF and USF, respectively. Senior Emily Thorson earned American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll recognition for her 32-kill performance over the weekend, including a career-high six service aces in the victory over USF.
As a team, Tulsa is tied with ECU for third in the American, boasting a 4-1 conference mark. With a flawless 7-0 record inside the Donald W. Reynolds Center this season, the team looks poised to make an impact on the AAC with this weekend's matches.
