Tulsa Golfers in 15th Place After Opening Round at the Battle at the Beach

SAN JOSE DEL CABO, Mexico–Tulsa freshman Lorena Tseng carded an opening round of 76 in first round action at the Battle at the Beach Friday in leading the Hurricane to 15^thplace in a strong 17-team field.

Tulsa shot a score of 313 at the par-71 Golf Course Club Campestre San Jose and is tied with New Mexico. Team leader Auburn carded a 3-over par 287, followed by Texas (292) and Mississippi State (294) to round out the top-3 teams.

Tseng's round of 76 put her in 34^thplace, while sophomore Taylor Dobson carded a round of 78 for 56^thplace, while senior Johanna Samuelsson sits one stroke back with a 79 for 66^thplace. Freshman ShaeLee Scarberry and senior Olivia Jackson are tied for 74^thplace after rounds of 80 today.

Auburn's Kaleigh Teifer's 2-under par 69 put her in first-place after opening round action.

Second round action takes place on Saturday with the final 18 holes being played on Sunday.
