TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa track and field squad opens the 2019 indoor schedule on Friday, January 11, as the team travels to Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the Arkansas Invitational.

Head coach Steve Gulley's bunch will travel 41 athletes (23 men and 18 women) to take part in the one-day meet at Randal Tyson Track Center. Thirteen schools will kick off the day with field events, beginning at 12:30 p.m. CT with the men's shot put.

Track events are scheduled to start at 3:20 p.m. CT with the 400-meter dash. As customary, the 4x400-meter relay will conclude the Arkansas Invitational on Friday, set to start at 6:30 p.m. and 6:50 p.m. CT with the women's and men's, respectively.

TU has only competed once in the 2018-19 indoor season, taking part in the Crimson & Gold Invitational on Dec. 8, 2018. Redshirt-junior Aleks Rapp took home the lone gold for the Golden Hurricane in the meet in the men's weight throw, launching a 19.29m/63-3.50 toss for his first event title of the indoor season.
