
Tulsa’s Desiree Lewis Named The American Rookie of the Week

Tulsa's Desiree Lewis was named as the American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week, as announced today by the league office.
Lewis, a forward from Converse, Texas, tied her career-high of 12 points, and added a career-best 10 rebounds for her first double-double in a 63-49 win over Wichita State in the conference opener last week. Lewis also had two assists and two steals in 33 minutes of play, while shooting 55-percent from the field.
Crystal Polk was named to The American Honor Roll. The senior forward from Lawton, Okla., tallied her seventh career double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. She also added two assists and two steals in 28 minutes of play, while shooting 53.8-percent from the field. Her seventh double-double moves her into 10th place on the school's top-10 list for career double-doubles.
