Tulsa’s Ploner and Okalova Advance to Consolation Doubles Semifinals at 2 PM on Saturday

TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa women's doubles team of Vera Ploner and Martina Okalova advanced to the semifinals of the Saint Francis Health System ITA Women's All-American Championships consolation doubles to be played Saturday at 2 PM at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the TU campus
 
Ploner and Okalova will face the North Carolina State team of Jaeda Daniel and Adrina Reami in the semifinal round.
 
The Tulsa duo advanced with an 8-4 quarterfinal win Friday over Mississippi's Alexa Bortles and Sabina Machalova.
 
In Friday's singles competition, Ploner faced No. 23 McCartney Kessler of Florida in the consolation second round. Kessler entered the match with an extra day of rest, as she advanced to the second round via walkover on Thursday. Ploner would fall to the Gator in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.

The finals will be played on Sunday at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
