Kody Pearson Cracks Top 100 in Oracle ITA National Fall Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. – University of Tulsa men's tennis sophomore Kody Pearson was ranked 98th in the 2019 Oracle Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) National Fall Singles Rankings, as announced by the organization on Wednesday.
The Australian had a strong showing throughout fall competition. Pearson won the ITA Central Regional Singles Championship in October, becoming the fourth Golden Hurricane to ever win the singles title. He secured an automatic bid to the 2019 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships, where he advanced to the Consolation Semifinals.
He has captured wins over three ranked opponents this year. At the Central Regional Championships, Pearson defeated the reigning regional singles champion then-No. 69 Kareem Allaf (7-6(8), 6-2) from Iowa in the semifinals. He then defeated then-No. 93 Stefan Millicevic (6-3, 6-1) from Minnesota in the championship match. At the National Fall Championships in California, he secured a win over then-No. 75 Yuta Kikuchi (6-2, 6-2) in the Consolation Round of 32.
Pearson ended fall competition going 8-4 overall in singles competition and 2-2 in doubles play.
