Tulsa Women to Host Temple on Senior Day

TULSA, Okla. – The Tulsa Golden Hurricane women's tennis team (13-8) welcomes the Temple Owls (10-5) to the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Saturday for Senior Day, with first serve scheduled for 10 a.m. CT.
Tulsa will honor lone senior Martha Matoula prior to the match, as Temple enters Saturday with a 9-6 overall mark and a 0-2 record against American Athletic Conference foes.
The teams haven't seen each other since a March 5, 2017, outing in Tulsa that saw the Golden Hurricane pick up a 5-2 victory. Tulsa swept the doubles point, followed by nabbing four of six singles wins in straight sets to defeat Temple.
For Tulsa, head coach Dean Orford's squad holds a 13-8 mark in the dual season. A weekend ago, the Golden Hurricane continued its road stretch with two matches inside the Lonestar State, squaring off with North Texas on March 30 and SMU on March 31. TU picked up two victories, winning 6-1 over North Texas and 5-2 over SMU.
No. 76-ranked Martina Okalova earned Player of the Week honors after her performance last weekend. The Slovakia native earned two ranked wins this past weekend, defeating North Texas' No. 79 Tamuna Kutubidze 6-3, 6-2 and SMU's No. 114 Liza Buss 5-7, 6-2, 1-0.
