
Taylor Horsfall Named Defensive Player of the Week

TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa's Taylor Horsfall has been named the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league office on Monday. This is the sixth time the senior libero has received this award, including the second time this season.
A native of Houston, Texas, Horsfall tallied 7.67 digs per set, as the Golden Hurricane are off to a 2-0 start in The American. In the conference opener vs. Wichita State, she posted a season-high and league-high 38 digs. That secured her fourth individual match record for digs at TU. The Golden Hurricane also totaled a season-high 89 digs against the Shockers in the win. She then added 31 digs against ECU.
Horsfall ranks third in program history in career digs with 1,999. She has finished with 30+ digs in 11 career matches.
Horsfall ranks eighth nationally and leads The American with 5.53 digs per set, and is one of two players in the conference to eclipse 300 digs this season. Her 322 digs this season is sixth-best in the country and stands second in The American. She also ranks 12th in the conference in service aces per set (0.32).
Tulsa returns to action on Friday, Oct. 4, as the Golden Hurricane travel to Dallas to face SMU at 7 p.m.
