
Kody Pearson Slotted at No. 56 in Latest ITA Singles Rankings

TEMPE, Ariz. - The University of Tulsa's Kody Pearson fell to No. 56 overall in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I Men's Singles Rankings, as released by the organization on Tuesday.
The Australian went 0-1 in singles and 1-0 in doubles, as the Golden Hurricane fell in a 6-1 loss at Alabama on February 7. Pearson suffered a 6-3, 6-1 loss at No. 1 singles to Edson Ortiz. In doubles action, he improved to 4-0 overall alongside Connor Di Marco, as the duo secured a 6-3 win over Patrick Kaukovalta and Zhe Zhou.
This season, Pearson stands at 11-7 overall in singles, with a 3-3 mark in the No. 1 position. He is 6-2 in doubles. When playing with Di Marco, they are 3-0 in the top spot and 1-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Tulsa is set to play three matches this week. The Golden Hurricane open their slate against Arkansas (4-3) on Friday at 6 p.m. at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus of TU. They will then head to Ithaca, New York, for a pair of contests on Sunday. TU will play No. 16 Cornell (6-1) at 8 a.m. CT, followed by Binghamton (3-5) at 12 noon.
