Tulsa Volleyball to Host Cincinnati, East Carolina This Weekend

TULSA, Okla. ― Coming off back-to-back conference road wins over SMU and Memphis, the Tulsa volleyball team returns to the Donald W. Reynolds Center this weekend.
Tulsa hosts Cincinnati at 7 pm on Friday, October 15, and East Carolina at 1 pm on Sunday, October 17. Both matches will be broadcast on ESPN+. TU fans can subscribe to ESPN+ to watch select Golden Hurricane basketball, soccer, softball, and volleyball games. ESPN+ is offered at $6.99/month or $69.99/year. To subscribe, go to plus.espn.com. On last weekend's road trip, the Golden Hurricane swept SMU in three sets before downing Memphis in four sets. Tulsa currently sits at 9-6 overall, 4-2 in conference.
Cincinnati is 10-4 overall this year, and 5-1 in conference play. The Bearcats are on a four-match winning streak, tallying wins over Memphis, SMU, ECU, and Temple in the process.
ECU is 7-8 on the season, 3-3 in AAC play. The Pirates are coming off a home win over Temple, and will face Wichita State on Friday, October 15 before heading to Tulsa.
Avery Kalsu was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll this week after recording 79 assists, 29 digs, seven kills, four blocks, and three service aces in the SMU and Memphis games combined. It's the second time this season a Tulsa player has made the Honor Roll (Kayley Cassaday, September 6).
Cassaday eclipsed 500 career kills during Sunday's win over Memphis, as the junior from Overland Park, Kansas has 210 on the season.
Historically, Cincinnati holds a 9-3 series lead over Tulsa as the two will meet for the 13th time ever Friday, while Tulsa and ECU will match up for the 23rd time, with the Hurricane leading 20-2 all-time.
