Tulsa Volleyball Falls to Wichita State in Four Sets

TULSA, Okla. The Tulsa volleyball team lost to Wichita State in four sets Wednesday night, 20-25, 25-22, 25-16, 25-15. Tulsa falls to 10-8, 5-4 in American Athletic Conference play while Wichita State improves to 12-6, 6-3 in conference play.
 
Maggie Hembree tallied 12 kills, tying her season best, on .458 hitting percentage. It's the second game in a row that the Jenks, Oklahoma native has recorded 12 kills.
 
Kayley Cassaday and Rachel Brown posted nine kills, while Avery Kalsu assisted 37 kills. Marta Pecalli had a career-high 29 kills in her young career.
 
Tulsa jumped out fast, winning the first set 25-20 behind five kills from Aysu Dalogullari. The second set when back and forth, a total of 10 ties in the set, but the Shockers pulled out the second set to tie the match 1-1.
 
Wichita State jumped out to an 8-1 run, and never looked back in the match, taking three sets in a row to win the match. It was the fourth road win of the season for the Shockers.
 
Tulsa will look to bounce back in Philadelphia on Friday, October 22 at 6 pm (CT) Friday against Temple.
