Tulsa Volleyball Sweeps Temple Friday Night

PHILADELPHIA, Penn. The Tulsa volleyball team swept Temple Friday night, 25-19, 25-23, 25-23 to secure its 11th victory of the season. Tulsa improves to 11-8 on the season, 6-4 in American Athletic Conference play, while Temple drops to 5-15 on the year, 1-8 in AAC play.
 
Tulsa was in control in the first set, jumping out to an 8-3 start that turned into a six-point first set victory.
 
The second set went back and forth, a total of 10 ties during the set, before the Golden Hurricane were able to hold off the Owls and jump to a 2-0 match lead.
 
Down 18-23 in the third set, Tulsa went on a 7-0 run to close the match, and a Maggie Hembree kill secured Tulsa's fifth road victory of the season.
 
Aysu Dalogullari recorded 11 kills and was the only Hurricane player with double-digit kills. Kayley Cassaday posted nine kills, while Rachel Brown poured in five of her own.
 
Avery Kalsu recorded another double-double, assisting 26 Tulsa kills while also having 12 digs. Maddie Flora led the team with 14 digs, and it was her fourth consecutive match having double digit kills, while also recording her third career kill.
 
Tulsa will return to action in one week, at UCF in Orlando, Florida, at 6 pm on October 29.
