TULSA, Okla. – Coming off a sweep of Temple, the Tulsa volleyball team will head to 'The Sunshine State' this weekend to take on UCF Friday night and South Florida Sunday.

Last week, the Golden Hurricane dropped last Wednesday's home match against Wichita State in four sets before bouncing back with a sweep of Temple in Philadelphia. Tulsa is 11-8 on the season, and 6-4 in American Athletic Conference play. The Hurricane are tied with Tulane and SMU for fifth in the conference, but just one game back of second place.

UCF is currently one of the hottest teams in the country. The Knights, who are 16-6 this season, 9-1 in AAC play, have won five matches in a row, the last four being sweeps. Since starting off the season 2-4, UCF is 14-2 in its last 16 matches played.

Friday's matchup will be the second meeting between Tulsa and UCF this season. The Knights beat Tulsa in four sets on October 3rd at the Reynolds Center. In the all-time series, Tulsa holds a 12-10 lead.

South Florida will host Wichita State on Friday before playing Tulsa on Sunday. The Bulls are 6-15 on the season, and 0-10 in AAC play. Tulsa took down South Florida in four sets on October 1st in Tulsa. The Hurricane lead the all-time series 7-3 and have won three straight matches against the Bulls.

Freshman Marta Pecalli was named to the American Athletic Conference Week Nine Honor Roll earlier this week for her play against Wichita State and Temple. The Italian native recorded a career-high 29 digs against Wichita State last week, the most digs in a four-set match by any player in the conference. Pecalli is the third Tulsa player to be named to the honor roll this year, joining Kayley Cassaday on September 6th and Avery Kalsu on October 11th.
