TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa women's golf team had three student-athletes sign national letters-of-intent, head coach Annie Young announced today. Emily Bohrer from Germany, Arkansas native Grace Kilcrease and Oklahoman Jenni Roller will be bringing their talents to the Golden Hurricane beginning in 2022.
"I am very excited about the 2022 class. I believe all three girls will make a huge impact on the team from day one. I look forward to working with them and see how much they grow and get better the next four years," said Young.
Bohrer, from Ketsch, Germany, is a member of the German Junior National Team in 2021-22. During this past summer, she was on the first-place team at the DMM AK 18 event and finished in seventh place at the MatchPlay Trophy Germany tournament.
She also had recent victories at the Club Championship with a 9-under par score and the 4. Youth Challenge with rounds of 73-74.
"I was very excited the day Emily chose TU," said Young. "She is a great girl who has a wealth of international tournament experience. Emily has trained with the best in Germany and recently was named to the German Girls National team, which is a great accomplishment in itself."
A four-time all-conference and all-state selection, Kilcrease played her prep golf at Springdale Har-ber High School. She helped lead her high school team to Class 6A state titles in 2020 and 2021, while earning Arkansas Prep Girls Junior Golfer of the Year honors in both those seasons.
During the fall prep season, Kilcrease scored an 8-under first-place score at the Arkansas Class 6A state championship in Sept. 2021. She also scored a 20-under par total with rounds of 61 and 63 to claim victory at the First Tee Invitational.
On the junior golf circuit, Kilcrease placed first at the 2021 AJGA Bass Pro Shop/Payne Stewart Junior Championship, 2021 AJGA Accenture Northwest Arkansas Junior Championship, the 2021 Arkansas Junior Championship and the 2021 USGA Girls Junior Qualifier
"Grace is a great addition to our program. She is a very competitive person with a ton of drive," said Young. "She came on very strong this summer as she won multiple AJGA events and qualified for the best junior events in the country. Grace has an unmatched work ethic that will help to make her a great college golfer."
Roller played her high school golf at Regent Preparatory School. She earned all-conference honors in 2019 and 2021 and was a USA Today National Golfer of the Year finalist and the Tulsa World Golfer of the Year in 2021.
Roller is a two-time Oklahoma state champion as she captured the Class 2A state titles in 2019 and 2021. She also captured the regional and district titles in each of those two seasons as well.
"We are very excited to add the top junior golfer in Oklahoma to our roster. Jenni is a great young lady with a ton of upside. She had a very successful summer and I can't wait to see what the future holds for her at TU," said Young.
On the junior circuit, Roller won the Oklahoma State Junior Championship in June 2021 and was the runner-up at the Women's Oklahoma Golf Association (WOGA) Championship with round of 74-71. She played in four consecutive PGA National Girls Championships (2017-2021) and in the USGA Junior Girls Championship in July 2021.
Roller's mother, Maggie Kelt Roller, also played her collegiate golf at The University of Tulsa from 1985-89,89, where she helped the Golden Hurricane win the 1988 NCAA Championship and finishing as the national runner-up in 1989.
