TULSA, Okla. –– The University of Tulsa men's basketball team welcomes the Air Force Academy to the Donald W. Reynolds Center on Saturday. The game tips at noon and will air on ESPN+. Chad McKee and Bryndon Manzer will have the call.

The Hurricane (1-0) are coming off a season opening 82-75 win against Northwestern State on Wednesday. Jeriah Horne tied his career-high with a 28-point performance on 8-12 shooting in his first game back in a Tulsa uniform. Newcomers Sam Griffin and Anthony Pritchard also impressed in the opening game. Pritchard, making his first start as a freshman, dished out six assists, while Griffin had 17 points.

Air Force (0-1) fell just short against South Dakota 59-53.  The Falcons fought back from a 15-point deficit, cutting the lead to just two with 18 seconds remaining. But the Coyotes were perfect from the line and closed out Air Force. Senior guard AJ Walker scored 11 of his 14 points in the second half to spark the comeback attempt. Freshman Ethan Taylor scored 14 and added eight rebounds.

This will be the third meeting between the Falcons and Golden Hurricane. The teams met twice in the 1998-99 season with each team winning its home game. Tulsa has the latest victory, defeating Air Force 78-75 on Feb. 13, 1999.  Air Force hasn't been back to Oklahoma since that season.

Saturday's matchup is the first game of the Sunshine Slam Tournament, with both teams heading to Daytona Beach, Fla. the following weekend for a pair of games. Tulsa  will take on Rhode Island on Saturday, Nov. 20, and then either Boston College or Utah on Sunday. Air Force will play Holy Cross and then either Bethune-Cookman or Bryant.

After Air Force, Tulsa faces Pac-12 opponent Oregon State in the Reynolds Center. That game is set for an 8:00 p.m. tip, Monday night on ESPNU.
