Tulsa Women’s Tennis Dominate Hurricane Invite to Wrap Up Fall Season

TULSA, Okla. ― Following a nine-win opening day and a perfect 10-0 day yesterday, the Tulsa women's tennis team claimed eight total flights, including all seven singles, during the final day of the Hurricane Invite, hosted at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
 
Tulsa, who was 14-0 in singles play the past two days, had another perfect day on the courts, winning all six singles matchups and all seven flights over the three days. Valeryia Rozenkova claimed Flight A, Shura Poppe won Flight B, Lian Benedejcic took Flight C, Maria Berlanga Bandera won Flight D, Leonor Peralta Dias de Oliveira collected Flight E while Lily Hutchings claimed Flight F. All Tulsa singles faced Wichita State opponents today in singles except for Hutchings, who faced Engback of Central Arkansas.
 
Tulsa finished the Hurricane Invite 20-0 in singles play.
 
On the doubles side, the duo of Poppe/Benedejcic claimed Flight Green, the third flight. Central Arkansas claimed the top flight, Flight Blue, while Houston claimed Flight Red. Wichita State claimed the last flight.
 
The Golden Hurricane will be back in action in the spring.
