The Tulsa women's basketball team dropped a 64-47 decision at Tulane on Wednesday afternoon at Devlin Fieldhouse in New Orleans, La.  The Golden Hurricane fell to 5-8 on the season and 4-8 in American Athletic Conference play, while the Green Wave moved to 13-5 overall and 9-4 in the league.

"We just didn't play together very well tonight," Head Coach Matilda Mossman said.  "We didn't have our typical inside-outside stuff, we weren't attacking and kicking, we were standing around, we just have to play together better.  They all struggled because they were all standing.  It is hard to get into a rhythm with a shot when you are just standing and that was everyone on the floor.  We couldn't find a group of five that could click."

Rebecca Lescay and Maya Mayberry both had a team-high 10 points, while Madi Washington added eight points, Maddie Bittle posted five, and both Jessika Evans and Kayla Moutry scored four.

Tulsa had a 14-3 lead in points off turnovers, forcing 15 by the Green Wave.  Tulane had a 35-16 advantage in points off the bench, a 26-22 lead in points in the paint and a 14-11 edge in fast break points.

Tulsa had a 12-5 advantage in steals, while Tulane had a 53-34 lead in rebounds, a 14-10 advantage in assists and a 4-0 lead in blocks.

Tulsa shot 30-percent from the field, 21-percent from behind the arc and 58-percent from the free throw line, while Tulane was 38-percent from the field, 29-percent from three-point range and 67-percent from the line.

There were seven lead changes in the first quarter, with Tulane owning a 16-14 advantage at the end of the frame.  Neither team led by more than two baskets.  The Golden Hurricane shot 40-percent (6-of-15) from the field, while the Green Wave shot 43-percent (6-of-14).

Tulane went on a 16-6 run to take a 12-point lead, 32-20, at the 3:02 mark of the second quarter, but Tulsa scored the final five points of the frame to go into halftime down seven, 32-25.

Tulsa had just six points in the third quarter, while the Green Wave tallied 15 to own a 47-31 lead with one frame remaining.  The Hurricane was just 3-of-16 in the quarter for 18-percent from the field.

The Golden Hurricane scored a game-best 16 points in the fourth quarter, including a 6-0 run to end the contest, but the Green Wave added 17 in the final frame for the 17-point victory (64-47).

Three Green Wave players scored in double figures, including Salma Bates (15), Kaila Anderson (11) and Krystal Freeman (10).  Bates had a double-double as she also recorded 10 rebounds in the contest.

Tulsa will return to action on Saturday, February 13 against #14 USF.  Game time is set for 3:00 pm Central in Tampa, Fla.
