
Tulsa’s Lorena Tseng Named American Athletic Conference’s Golfer of the Week

IRVING, Texas –– The University of Tulsa golfer Lorena Tseng was named the American Athletic Conference Women's Golf Athlete of the Week, it was announced today by the league office.
Tseng placed second overall at the Texas State Invitational on Tuesday, while leading the Golden Hurricane women to the team championship. She carded a 54-hole score of 12-under par 204, finishing three strokes behind the individual medalist.
Tseng carded rounds of 65-69-70 at the par 72 Plum Creek Golf Course. She had 16 birdies and just 4 bogeys in her 54 holes. Her first round 7-under par score was bogey-free, while she had 4 birdies in each of her final two rounds.
The runner-up finish for Tseng was her ninth top-5 finish in 21 career tournaments. She now has placed among the top 20 at 17 events and among the top-10 in 14 tournaments.
As a team, Tulsa carded rounds of 282-284-293 for 5-under par score of 859 for the victory in the 15-team field.
This is Tseng's fourth AAC award for her career and second career weekly honor. She was named Player of the Week, Feb. 26, 2020, as a sophomore. Tseng was also named The American's Golfer of the Month as a freshman in back-to-back months (Sept. and Oct.).
Tulsa will be back in action next week, Mon-Tues, Feb. 14-15, at the Rebel Beach Invitational in Las Vegas, Nevada.
