Tulsa redshirt freshman Alex Meinhard scored the golden goal in the 101st minute to give the Golden Hurricane a 1-0 double-overtime win over Memphis on Sunday night at the Track and Soccer Complex in Memphis, Tenn.  TU moved to 4-1-1 on the season, while the Tigers fell to 1-6 overall.

The first 90 minutes ticked off the clock scoreless, forcing the game into overtime.  The first 10-minute overtime period was also scoreless, but with just 50-seconds ticked off the clock in the final overtime Meinhard scored on a counterattack from 12 yards out off an assist from Ben Barkley to end the contest.

"I thought we showed good patience and really good concentration tonight," Head Coach Tom McIntosh said.  "Memphis defended us well, but we created a few good chances.  We were pushing to score but stayed disciplined and eventually the goal came.  Memphis is dangerous on the counterattack, but we maintained our shape and possessed the ball for good periods of time.  We just have to continue to get better and progress each week."

Memphis midfielder Luke Kelly picked his second yellow card at the 86:37 mark, forcing the Tigers to play a man down for the final 14:13 of the game.

Meinhard, Malik Henry-Scott and Jonathan Cervantes all had a team-best three shots, while Mariano Fazio, Chase Bromstedt and Barkley each added two attempts.  Lucas Cline logged all 100:50 in goal and picked up one save for the shutout.

Tulsa had a 17-3 lead in shots, including an 8-1 advantage in shots on goal, and a 5-2 lead in corner kicks.

Tulsa will return to action on Saturday, March 27 against SMU beginning at 7:00 pm at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium.
