Tulsa Golfers at AAC Championship Sunday

PINEHURST, N.C. –– The Tulsa women golfers will be one of 10 teams competing for the American Athletic Conference Championship, Sunday-Tuesday, April 18-20, at the par-72, 6,290-yard Pinehurst No. 6 Resort Course in Pinehurst, North Carolina.
Junior Lorena Tseng leads the Hurricane team with top-15 place performances in all four events this year, including two top-5 finishes. Haley Greb has three top-15 finishes and Lilly Thomas has placed among the top-25 three times, including a career-best third place showing at the Rebel Beach Intercollegiate.
Tseng and senior Taylor Dobson had Tulsa's best finishes at the last AAC Championship by tying for 15th place in 2019.
The nation's 20th-ranked Houston Cougars will be the favorite to win its third straight league title. Last year's event was canceled due to covid-19. Since Tulsa joined the league in 2014-15 only two teams have won the AAC crown – Houston (3) and UCF (2).
In addition to Houston, UCF (31) and Tulsa (56) are the only other teams ranked among the nation's top 60 teams, while South Florida (68), ECU (71) SMU(92), Tulane (96), Memphis (99) are among the top 100.
The Hurricane has won a total of 12 conference titles in 26 years playing for a conference championship. Tulsa won 3-of-3 Missouri Valley Conference titles, 7-of-9 in the WAC and 2-of-9 in Conference USA. Tulsa's top finish at The American was 5th place in 2017.
In four tournaments this year, Tulsa claimed two straight tournament championships by winning titles at the Texas State Invitational and the Rebel Beach Intercollegiate.
