The Tulsa women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to Pittsburgh on Thursday night in the BancFirst Cowgirl Soccer Invitational in Stillwater, Okla. The Golden Hurricane fell to 0-1 on the season, while the Panthers moved to 1-0 overall.
Pitt scored two early goals, including one by Ellie Coffield in the 17th minute and the other by Amanda West in 20th minute. The Panthers held onto that 2-0 lead at halftime. Leah Pais added the final score at the 84:23 mark for the final 3-0 score.
Pitt had a 19-6 lead in shots, including a 9-2 advantage in shots on goal, and a 7-1 lead in corner kicks.
Mia Darden had two shots, while Kayla Fernandez and Megan Nielsen both had one attempt. Emma Malsy logged all 90 minutes in goal and picked up six saves.
TU will return to action on Sunday, August 22 against UTSA beginning at 1:30 pm in Stillwater.
