Tulsa Defeats Louisiana Tech, Wyoming to Wrap Up The Hurricane Invite

TULSA, Okla. ― The Tulsa women's tennis team defeated Louisiana Tech 7-0 while defeating Wyoming 6-1 on the final day of The Hurricane Invite. Tulsa improves to 3-0 on the season after beating Montana State yesterday.

After playing the singles matches against Louisiana Tech yesterday and going 6-0, Tulsa completed the dual with the Bulldogs this morning in doubles play. The duos of Valeryia Rozenkova/Maria Berlanga and Laia Conde Monfort/Shura Poppe both won their duo matchups 6-4 to give Tulsa the 7-0 victory.

Tulsa continued its momentum into the next match against Wyoming, as all three tandems won to give the Hurricane an early 1-0 lead.

On the singles side, Tulsa went 5-1 over the Cowgirls, behind victories from Monfort, Berlanga, Rozenkova, Lian Benedejcic and Leonor Peralta Dias de Oliveira.

Tulsa finished The Hurricane Invite with a 8-1 doubles record, and 17-1 singles record.

The Hurricane will return to action at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on Friday, January 21^st against Kansas at 1 p.m.
