TULSA, Okla. ― After dropping the season-opening match against Cal last Saturday, the Tulsa men's tennis team will host Purdue and Illinois State on Saturday, January 22nd at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

The Golden Hurricane will face Purdue at noon before squaring off with Illinois State at 6 p.m.

Purdue is 0-2 on the season, dropping road matches to AAC foe SMU 3-4 and 24th ranked Oklahoma 1-6. Saturday's match will be the fourth meeting between Tulsa and Purdue. The two teams haven't met since 2017, and the Boilermakers lead the series 2-1, including winning the previous two meetings.

Illinois State is coming off a 0-3 weekend at the Arthur Ashe Invite in West Point, New York. The Redbirds dropped matches to Florida Atlantic, DePaul, and Army. Tulsa has a perfect 4-0 record over Illinois State all-time, including a 6-1 victory last January.

Last time out, Tulsa won the doubles point to open things up against Cal, as the tandems of Adham Gaber/Callum Gale and Daniel Siddall/Tom Thelwall-Jones both knocked off their Golden Bear opponents. During singles play, Kody Pearson, who is No. 1 singles for Tulsa, and Connor Di Marco won their singles matches.
