TULSA, Okla. — Sophomore Maria Berlanga Bandera and senior Laia Conde Monfort of The University of Tulsa women's tennis team will compete in the Main Draws of the ITA Women's All-American Championships at the Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C.

Monfort will face Fiona Crawley of North Carolina at 8 a.m. in the Main Singles Draw. She and Berlanga will pair up against South Carolina's Sarah Hamner and Ayana Akli at 12 p.m.

From Saturday, Oct. 1, through Sunday, Oct. 9, over 200 of the country's best collegiate tennis players will gather to play in what is the first national championship of the fall season.

This is the first year the city of Cary will host the annual tournament. Duke, NC State and North Carolina will assist with hosting duties in Cary.

The nine-day tournament will feature a Pre-Qualifying Draw, a Qualifying Draw and a Main Draw for both singles and doubles play. Nine of the top-ten ranked women's singles players in the ITA Collegiate Tennis National Preseason Rankings Sponsored by Tennis-Point will be competing in main draw action, with countless other nationally ranked players filling out the qualifying and pre-qualifying draws.

For singles play, scoring will follow a best-of-three format. For all Pre-Qualifying and Qualifying Doubles Draws, the scoring format will be an eight-game pro set, with a tiebreak at seven games all.

In the Main Doubles Draw, there will be two sets with a 10-point match tiebreak in lieu of a 3rd set.
