Tulsa Volleyball To Host #25 UCF and South Florida For Homecoming Matches

TULSA, Okla. — After two weeks on the road, The University of Tulsa volleyball team (10-11, 3-6 AAC) returns to the Donald W. Reynolds Center to play American Athletic Conference foes UCF (17-1, 9-1 AAC) and South Florida (7-13, 1-7 AAC).
First, the Golden Hurricane will take on No. 25-ranked UCF on Friday, Oct. 28, at 4 p.m. Then, Tulsa will face South Florida on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 1 p.m.

Through nine weeks of competition, Tulsa remains the nation's leader in two statistical categories: team digs per set at 19.25 and team attacks per set at 40.36. Tulsa's total number of digs (1,544) is the seventh-highest mark in the country.
In The American, Tulsa ranks first in digs (1,544), digs per set (19.25) and team attacks per set (40.36). The Hurricane ranks fourth in kills (1041), kills per set (13.01), assists (967), and assists per set (12.09).
Senior outside hitter Kayley Cassaday leads The American with 350 kills, 1,097 total attacks and 380 total points scored. She also ranks second in the conference for kills per set (4.38) and points per set (4.75).
Cassaday leads the country in attacks per set with an average of 13.71. She is also third for total attacks (1,097), 12th for total kills (350), 18th for total points scored (380) and 27th for points per set (4.75).
Sophomore libero Marta Pecalli tops the conference with 432 digs at 5.40 digs per set. She nationally ranks 13th for digs per set (5.40) and 20th for total digs (432).
Friday will mark the second meeting between Tulsa and UCF this season. Back in September, the Knights swept the Hurricane 3-0 in a match that took place in Wichita due to Hurricane Ian, tying the overall series at 12 all. UCF currently sits in second place in The American after falling 3-1 to Houston (19-2, 10-0 AAC) in early October.
In league statistics, UCF sits atop the conference in hitting percentage (.318), kills per set (14.37), assists per set (13.32), blocks per set (2.56) and service aces per set (1.61). The Knights' McKenna Melville, an outside hitter, leads The American in kills per set (5.26). Middle blocker Abby Hansen averages a conference-best 1.23 blocks per set.
Tulsa and South Florida will meet for the first time this season. The previous match, scheduled for Sept. 30, was postponed due to Hurricane Ian. The Hurricane currently holds the series advantage at 8-3 and has won five of the last six matches. Last year, Tulsa won both matches, 3-1.
South Florida is currently last in conference standings with a 1-7 league record. The Bulls' only AAC victory was a 3-2 back-and-forth battle with ECU (8-14, 3-7 AAC) two weeks ago. South Florida is tied for fourth in the league in service aces (116) and service aces per set (1.47).
In conference statistics, setter Kelsey O'Loughlin is ninth in The American with 497 assists at 6.29 assists per set. Middle blocker Amiree Hendricks-Walker is fifth with 1.08 blocks per set. Defensive specialist CC Clausen is 10th at 3.31 digs per set.
