Tulsa Women Go 17-3 During Hurricane Invite To Wrap Up Fall Season

TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa women's tennis team finished the fall season on a strong note, winning 17 of 20 total matches at home during the Hurricane Invite at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Junior transfer Oleksandra Nahurska added two wins against athletes from Wichita State on Saturday and two wins against North Texas players on Sunday. The Lugansk, Ukraine, native improved her home records in the Case Tennis Center to 5-0 in singles play and 6-0 in doubles play.

Senior Lian Benedejcic and sophomore transfer Myroslava Zelenchuck also went undefeated during the Hurricane Invite. Benedejcic went 3-0 with partner Nahurska and earned two straight victories in singles play against Sumomo Hamanaga (Central Arkansas) and Kristina Kudryavtseva (Wichita State).

Zelenchuk went 3-0 in both singles and doubles action. She concluded the tournament on Sunday with a two-set battle with Olivia Malm of North Texas, where the native of Lviv, Ukraine, prevailed 6-4, 7-6 with an 8-6 tiebreaker.

Tulsa will be back in action on January 14, 2023, to host Omaha in the spring season opener.
