Tulsa’s Poindexter Picks Up Seventh Freshman of the Week Accolade; Bittle Named to Honor Roll

Tulsa women's basketball player Temira Poindexter was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week, while Maddie Bittle was tabbed to The American Weekly Honor Roll, as announced today by the league office.  This was Poindexter's seventh accolade in 12 weeks.
 
Poindexter averaged 21.0 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game last week, while shooting at a 45.2 percent from the field and 76.9 percent from the free throw line.  She tallied weekly totals of 42 points, 15 rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals.  Poindexter scored 20 points, six rebounds, two assists, two steals and one block against Houston and then followed up that performance with 22 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two blocks at Wichita State.  
 
Bittle averaged 13.5 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game, while shooting at a 60.0 percent clip from the field (9-of-15), 83.3 percent from behind the arc (5-of-6) and 100 percent from the free throw line (4-of-4) last week.  She tallied 11 points, four rebounds and a steal against Houston, and then posted 16 points, four rebounds a steal and an assist at Wichita State.
