TULSA, Okla. ― Tulsa's Callum Gale was named the American Athletic Conference Men's Player of the Week, the conference announced today. It's the first time the Adelaide, Australia product has been tabbed as player of the week.

Gale won in both singles and doubles last Saturday in Tulsa's 4-3 win over No. 18 Pepperdine. The six-foot seven sophomore broke a 3-3 tie that gave Tulsa the team win after rallying from a 0-3 deficit in the third set to tally a 7-5, 3-6, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles, defeating a top-100 player, and improving to 4-1 in dual match singles.

Gale also had the clinching win for the doubles point against the Waves, 6-2 at the No. 2 spot.

Gale and Tulsa will look to knock off another ranked opponent when they travel to Waco, Texas on Friday to clash with No. 2 Baylor at 2 pm before hosting Alabama Sunday inside the Michael D. Case Tennis Center at noon.
