TULSA, Okla. ― Tulsa junior Ezequiel Santalla was named American Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the conference announced today. Tulsa has now earned AAC Player of the Week honors four times this spring, as Santalla joins Kody Pearson (2/22), Connor Di Marco (2/15), and Callum Gale (2/8), who won the award three weeks in a row.

Tulsa, who is 9-4 this season, played both its matches last week on Sunday, March 6th, beating North Dakota 6-1 and Oral Roberts 7-0. Santalla, who's ranked No. 99 in the ITA singles rankings, went 4-0 on the day, winning two from the No. 2 spot in singles and two from the No. 3 doubles slot. Santalla has been a huge reason to Tulsa's early success so far this season, helping the Hurricane to its best start to a season since 2010-11.

Santalla and Tulsa will look to continue its strong play against No. 16 Oklahoma on Sunday, March 13th at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center at 2 p.m. Admission is free to all Tulsa tennis matches.
