Lilly Thomas Places Fifth and Tulsa Finishes Seventh at The Bruzzy

FORT WORTH, Texas –– The Tulsa golfers finished in seventh place while junior Lilly Thomas finished in a tie for fifth place Tuesday afternoon at The Bruzzy on par-72 Waterchase Country Club course.
The second round concluded this morning after darkness forced an early closure to round two Monday night.
Tulsa turned in scores of 284 and 286 for its final two rounds and had a 54-hole total of 9-over par 873. Thomas finished with two identical rounds of 3-under par 69 after a first-round score of 72 while finishing at 6-under par for her fifth-place finish.
Thomas' top-5 performance was her second of the season and her fourth tournament finishing among the top 10.
In final round action, Tulsa also counted a 71 and two 73's for its 2-under par final round of 286.
Sophie Johnson scored a 70 and 71 for her final two rounds to post a 20th place total of 2-over par 218, while Lorena Tseng placed 42nd after her rounds of 78-72-73 for a 223 total score.
Tulsa freshmen Lovisa Gunnar and Sydney Seigel placed in a tie for 46th place with identical scores of 8-over par 224. Haley Greb finished in 74th place with a 236 final score.
Baylor claimed the team title with a 21-under par 843 score, while TCU's Sabrina Iqbal's 9-under 63 on Tuesday propelled her into first place with an 11-under par 205 score.
In other action, Tulsa's Tita Loudtragulngam finished in 17th place at the ORU Spring Invite on Tuesday. She finished with a 229 total score, while Hanna Robinett finished in 55th place with a score of 244.
Tulsa will be in action next Sunday-Tuesday, April 17-19, looking to defend its American Athletic Conference Championship at Pinehurst No. 6.
