Tulsa Runners Open Wednesday at NCAA West Prelims in Fayetteville

MEET SCHEDULE

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –– The sprints, hurdles and 10,000 meters will be first up for Tulsa runners on Wednesday at the 2022 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Preliminary Championships at the University of Arkansas.

Over the four days, Wed-Sat., May 25-28, Tulsa runners will compete in five events including the men's 100-meters, men's 400m hurdles, men's 5,000m, men's 10,000m and the women's 3,000m steeplechase.

On Wednesday, Josh Sutton in the 100m, Henry Visser in the 400m hurdles and 10,000m participants Scott Beattie, Peter Lynch and Cormac Dalton will be in action. The 100m takes place at 7 p.m., the 400 hurdles and 8:20 p.m. and the 10,000m closes out the days' events with a start time of 9:10 p.m.

The regional finals in the 100m (6:35 p.m.) and 400 hurdles (7:25 p.m.) take place on Friday along with the 5,000m race at 8:10 p.m. Beattie and Lynch will be joined in the 5,000m by Isaac Akers and Michael Power. In their last meet, the AAC Championships, Beattie, Akers and Lynch took the first three spots and Power finished in fifth place.

On Saturday, Layla Roebke and Kat Pesendorfer will close out Tulsa's competitors by competing in the women's 3,000m steeplechase, expected to start at 5:40 p.m.

Qualifers from the two regional events – Fayetteville and Bloomington, Indiana – will compete in the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 8-11 in Eugene, Oregon.
