Tulsa’s Lilly Thomas Looks to Defend LNGA Amateur Championship

LAKE ST. LOUIS, Mo. –– University of Tulsa golfer Lilly Thomas will look to defend her 2021 title at the 92nd Annual Ladies National Golf Association (LNGA) Amateur Championship this week. The tournament takes place Tuesday-Thursday, July 26-28, at Lake Forest Country Club.
Thomas won last year's event by shooting a 6-under par 210 with rounds of 70-66-74 at The Country Club of St. Albans in St. Albans, Mo.
The 91-player field from 22 states and five countries including Sweden, Australia, Canada, United Arab Emirates and Argentina is made up of mostly collegiate players representing 49 Universities across the United States.
Thomas, a senior from Bentonville, Ark., completed the 2021-22 collegiate season with eight top-25 performances in 11 tournaments and earned all-conference honors.
Thomas will also compete at the 2022 U.S. Women's Amateur, August 8-14, at Chambers Bay Golf Club in University Place, Washington.
