TULSA, Okla. –– Three freshmen scored in double-figures to lead Tulsa to a 79-50 win over Mississippi Valley State Tuesday night in front of 2,773 fans at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

The trio of freshmen combined for 36 points as Tyshawn Archie led the way with 14 points, Jarred Hall 12 and PJ Haggerty 10. Isaiah Barnes added 13 points, missing only one field goal on the night. Barnes was 5-of-6 from the field, 2-of-2 from three-point range and made his only free throw.

Mississippi State's Arecko Gipson led all scorers with 19 points.

Tulsa improved to 7-3 on the season and 7-0 at home for its longest win streak to start a season since a nine-game start to the 2018-19 season. MVSU fell to 0-11 on the season as the Delta Devils played their 11th straight road game.

"I was really pleased with our guys. Their attention – we spent a lot of time on it the last couple of days. We got off to a good start. We executed on the offensive end with a couple of baskets early in the paint with Jared Garcia right around the rim and the dunk from Isaiah Barnes. And then we were able to have confidence that way and get enough stops. Of course, we have to fix the rebounding. We have to keep looking at that and getting better there. But overall, pleased with the win and getting the opportunity to look at some guys and get some minutes there," said Tulsa Head Coach Eric Konkol.

Tulsa took a double-figure lead at 25-14 with 6:59 remaining in the first half and held a double-digit margin for the rest of the contest. Tulsa's largest lead was 30 points twice in the final five minutes. Archie's driving layup at the 4:21 mark put the Hurricane ahead 72-42 and at the 2:37 mark Hall's jumper made the score 76-46.

Archie's three-point at the 0:23 mark gave Tulsa its final 29-point margin of victory.

Tulsa shot a season-highs from the field at 60.9-percent and from behind the arc with a .538 percentage.
