TULSA, Okla. — The University of Tulsa women's tennis team earned a 4-0 Senior Day sweep over Cincinnati (8-13) at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center to close the home slate of the 2023 season. Seniors Lian Benedejcic and Laia Conde Monfort were honored before the match.

The No. 68 Golden Hurricane improves to 12-9 on the year.

The doubles point came down to the No. 2 position after Amy Leather and Myroslava Zelenchuk won the third position 6-3 and Maria Berlanga Bandera and Lily Hutchings dropped the first position. In a set where neither team led by more than one game point, Laia Conde Monfort and Ana Naranjo Martinez prevailed 7-5 to clinch the first point of the match for Tulsa.

In singles play, all winning TU athletes needed only two sets to conquer their Bearcat opponents. Monfort struck first with a 6-0, 7-5 victory at Singles No. 1, followed by a 6-3, 6-4 decision by sophomore Myroslava Zelenchuk to put the Hurricane up 3-0.

Clinching and ending the dual match at 4-0 was sophomore Ana Naranjo Martinez, who earned a 6-4, 6-4 win over Cincinnati's Katie Ferguson. In the first set, Naranjo took the lead at 3-2 and did not look back. In set two, she erased a 1-3 deficit to close out her two-set head-to-head match.
