Tulsa Set to Host Florida Atlantic and South Florida at the Donald W Reynolds Center

Tulsa, Okla. - Fourth-place Tulsa volleyball is set to host seventh-place Florida Atlantic in an American Athletic Conference match up on Friday, Oct. 11th, at 6:00 p.m. followed by a match with the AAC No. 2, South Florida on Sunday, Oct. 13th at 1 p.m.
 
Tulsa's matches will stream on ESPN+. Fans unable to attend the action in person can subscribe to ESPN+ to watch select Golden Hurricane volleyball, soccer, football, tennis, softball and basketball games. This will be Tulsa's third meeting with Florida Atlantic in a series that dates to the first meeting in 2013 and the last being in the 2023 season.
 
Tulsa is returning home after a splitting a pair of games in Tulane (W, 3-0) and Rice (L,1-3) in pursuit of a fourth conference win. The 2024 AAC preseason coaches' poll placed Florida Atlantic in fifth and they hope to add another win to their 2-2 conference record after dropping three sets to Temple in Sunday's matchup.
 
At the net, the Owls are putting their trust in Katelynn Robine and Valeria Rosado who have led the offense throughout the season thus far. Robine is eighth in the league with 3.03 kills per set, and Victoria Hensley averages 10.69 assists per set with 652 total assists. Florida Atlantic has found much success with their offense as they lead the conference with 812 kills this season along with the highest assist count in the league.
 
Sunday will mark the 14th meeting between Tulsa and South Florida in a series that the Hurricane lead 9-4. Tulsa, after finishing last year in the number eight spot, looks to take another victory over USF after a three-set sweep over the Bulls in last season's meeting.
 
South Florida is 8-7 overall and 4-0 in league action. The Bulls look to continue their four-match win streak as they head to Wichita State before coming to town on Sunday, October 13th.
 
Maria Clara Andrade leads the Bulls with 4.46 points per set and 4.06 kills per set, placing her second in conference in both categories. The Bulls hit for .232 as a group, the second-highest effort among all AAC programs and lead the AAC in kills per set with 13.5.
 
Tulsa comes into the weekend riding on the shoulders of senior libero Marta Pecalli, who is off to a strong defensive start for her final year with the Golden Hurricane. So far this year, Pecalli ranks first in the league for digs per set (4.83) with a total dig count of 280 and earns a ranking in fourth for aces (23).
 
Also supporting the Hurricane is junior setter Brayden Hipp, who is averaging 6.72 assist, and 2.93 digs per set as she leads the Hurricane offense.
 
At the net for Tulsa is Tytiana Johnson with an impressive hitting percentage of .400, the highest in the AAC. Along with her is graduate outside Tatum Tornatta and senior Rachel Brown, piling on 144 kills and 112 kills, respectively.
 
Tulsa looks to continue their defensive hot streak as they lead the conference in digs per set at 17.62 which also places them No. 7 in Division I.
