Tulsa Welcomes the Oklahoma Sooners on Sunday

TULSA, Okla. — The annual in-state showdown between the Tulsa Golden Hurricane men's tennis team and the Oklahoma Sooners returns to the Michael D. Case Tennis Center Sunday, Feb. 4, with first serves at 1 p.m.
 
The match will be streamed on Track.Tennis.
 
Oklahoma is 16-7 in the overall series since the turn of the century. The Sooners have won 10 of the last 11 meetings, including last year's dual match in Norman in a 4-0 decision. Tulsa's last win came in a 6-1 decision at home in 2021.
 
The Sooners are 6-1 to start the season with their only loss so far coming against No. 6 Tennessee in a 4-1 defeat in the championship match of their ITA Kickoff Weekend bracket. Oklahoma is coming off a 7-0 home sweep over Wichita State entering Sunday's match, which stands as OU's first true road test of the season.
 
No. 89 Luis Alvarez and Mark Mandlik each lead Oklahoma with 12 singles wins, while Jordan Hasson is 6-0 in dual matches. Alex Martinez and Kholo Montsi form OU's premier doubles squad with a 7-2 overall record and a 5-1 mark at No. 1 Doubles. 
 
Freshman Victor Tosetto remains Tulsa's singles leader with a 10-4 overall mark and a perfect 3-0 record in dual matches across positions five and six. Seniors Pierce Rollins and Thiago Pernas are each 3-1 at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots, respectively, to start the season.
 
The chemistry between senior Callum Gale and freshman Alex Okonkwo continues to build as the pair leads Tulsa with a 5-2 overall record in doubles play, including an undefeated 3-0 performance so far at No. 2 Doubles.
