Tulsa Men Grab 7-0 Sweep Over Lindenwood

TULSA, Okla. — The Tulsa men's tennis team got their weekend started with a perfect 7-0 sweep over the Lindenwood Lions Friday night on the indoor courts of the Michael D. Case Tennis Center, while the Tulsa women's team played North Texas on the outdoor courts. The Golden Hurricane moved to 11-12 on the year, and the Lions fell to 2-11.

Tulsa claimed the doubles point in two quick wins in the first and third positions with the clinch going to No. 37 Pierce Rollins and Timothy Carlsson Seger in a 6-4 decision over Nathan Matsuguma and Bernardo Henriques. Position No. 2 played out to a finish and ended in a 6-2 result for the Lions.

The Hurricane rolled through the Lions in singles play as Tulsa players needed only two sets to take down each of their Lion counterparts. After Seger cruised to a perfect 6-0, 6-0 finished at No. 5 Singles, freshman Victor Tosetto claimed the sixth spot 6-2, 6-1 to make it a 3-0 dual match for the Hurricane. Securing the team victory at 4-0 was senior Callum Gale in a 6-3, 6-1 win at the No. 3 position. The remaining matches played on as seniors Thiago Pernas, Volodymyr Zakharov and No. 80 Pierce Rollins got their straight-set wins to end Tulsa's excellent performance at 7-0.

Tulsa will be back in action with a pair of matches tomorrow, starting with the Senior Day match against Temple (7-11) at 10:30 p.m., followed by match two with Lindenwood at 5 p.m.
