A Look at the Ladyjacks
  • This will be the fourth meeting between TU and SFA.
  • Tulsa leads 3-0 with perfect sweeps in every matchup, including a 9-0 win in 1983 in Tulsa, a quick 4-0 decision at a neutral site in Waco, Texas, and a 7-0 sweep in Tulsa in 2015.
  • Sunday will be SFA's second match of the spring season. Their first will be at Oral Roberts on Saturday.
  • The Ladyjacks went 9-11 last season, winning their first five dual matches and falling in their last six to end the year.

Undefeated Starts
  • Seniors Mariana Manyoma-Velasquez, Maria Berlanga Bandera and Ana Naranjo Martinez are undefeated this spring across both modes of play.
  • Manyoma-Velasquez stands alone at 10-0 with 5-0 showings in both singles and doubles play. She's been dominant at Doubles No. 2 and Singles No. 3 for TU.
  • Berlanga is right behind at 9-0, going 5-0 in doubles action and 4-0 in singles after stepping out of the singles lineup against ORU.
  • At 8-0 is Naranjo, who's won all five doubles matches with Manyoma-Velasquez at the two-spot and earned three singles victories so far with the last two coming at the fifth position.
  • Senior Lily Hutchings is perfect at 5-0 in doubles play after holding down the No. 1 doubles line with Berlanga. Her freshman teammate Isabella Basson is 3-0 in the third doubles post.

Tulsa in the ITA Rankings
  • Central region-winning duo Maria Berlanga Bandera and Lily Hutchings remain the 26th-highest-ranked pair in Division I according to the latest ITA Doubles Rankings.
  • The seniors are 11-1 overall together this year and 5-0 in dual matches, grabbing all five consecutive victories atop the lineup.
  • There will be one more top-25 team ranking release on Jan. 22 before the next singles and doubles rankings drop on Feb. 5, at 10 a.m.

Seniors Approaching All-Time TU Career Win Lists
  • Maria Berlanga Bandera has 69 career doubles wins entering Sunday's action. She's tied for 12th with Marta Marcinkowska (2006-09) on the all-time Tulsa doubles win chart.
  • Berlanga also has 69 singles wins. She needs eight more to tie Ksenia Laskutova's (2014-18) 77 victories for 11th.
  • Lily Hutchings maintains 68 doubles triumphs and 59 wins in singles play, ranking 13th in TU doubles history and needing 18 more singles successes to tie Laskutova in the TU record books.
  • Ana Naranjo Martinez is right behind her teammates in the doubles chart with 67 wins for 14th. She also has 44 singles victories under her belt.

Last Time Out
  • Tulsa overpowered Oral Roberts and Central Arkansas in a pair of 7-0 sweeps in the Case Tennis Center last weekend.
