A Look at Our Cross-Town Opponent
  • Oral Roberts is 2-2 to start the year. Their only wins have come against NAIA programs Friends University and Haskell.
  • The Golden Eagles lost their last two at #22 Oklahoma State and Lindenwood.
  • Last season, ORU went 24-9 overall and 12-4 in Summit League play. They earned a bid to the WBIT, where they lost in the first round to Missouri State.
  • Jalei Oglesby leads the Golden Eagles with 21 points per game this season. She had a double-double against Tulsa last year with 12 points and 13 boards.

Freshmen Shine Through First Three Games
  • Tulsa has cruised to three straight wins to start the year, thanks in part to significant contributions by three true freshmen, two of which have earned starts.
  • Alisha Peavy (San Antonio, Texas) and Dora Toman (Budapest, Hungary) started in their first collegiate contests for TU, with Peavy producing 9.3 boards per game, while Toman has led Tulsa in assists three times, boards and blocks twice and steals once.
  • Haven Fisher, from Prior Lake, Minn., came off the bench twice to score 11 points against UNO and 14 points against Prairie View. She currently has 10.3 points per game in 21.8 minutes in each contest.
  • Fisher even had a third-quarter buzzer-beater against Prairie View, helping TU win that game by 20 points (79-59).

Riddick Returns to the Court
  • Redshirt senior forward Hannah Riddick, a former four-year letterwinner for Memphis, exited the 2024-25 season early last year with a season-ending knee injury.
  • Her injury happened on November 13, 2024, against Ball State.
  • After transferring to Tulsa over the offseason, she returned to the court for the Golden Hurricane exactly one year removed from her injury last season - on November 13, 2025, against Houston Christian.
  • In her return, Riddick came off the bench and scored 12 points in the 75-67 win over the HCU Huskies to push TU to a 3-0 start.

Nelp's Success
  • Head Coach Angie Nelp earned her 73rd win for the Golden Hurricane at UAB (2/22) in a 72-68 overtime comeback thriller, surpassing Charlene Thomas-Swinson's (2005-11) 72 wins for third on the all-time TU coach wins list.
  • She is currently 79-49 entering game No. 3 of her fifth season..
  • Nelp needs 13 more wins to pass Kathy McConnell-Miller (1999-05) for the  second-most wins in program history.
  • No previous Tulsa coach had ever reached 70 wins in just their fourth season.
  • Only three other TU head coaches won more than 70 games in their careers.
  • Nelp is the only coach in program history to earn 10+ home wins in three straight seasons.
  • Nelp is also the only coach to lead Tulsa to three postseasons.
  • She is the only coach to lead Tulsa to multiple 3-0 starts to the season.
  • Finally, Nelp is the only TU coach to have more than two consecutive winning seasons leading the Golden Hurricane.

Toman Named American Conference Freshman of the Week
  • After making an immediate impact in her first two collegiate games for the Golden Hurricane, Dora Toman has been selected as the first American Conference Freshman of the Week this season.
  • Toman finished week one as the league leader in blocks (5), blocks per game (2.5) and minutes per game (36.53).
  • She also led all conference freshmen in steals per game (2.5), total steals (5), assists per game (5.0) and total assists (10) through two games.
  • Toman also ended the week ranked second in rebounding among all conference freshmen behind Tulsa's Alisha Peavy, earning 9.0 boards per game.
  • In the Golden Hurricane's 79-59 win over Prairie View A&M, Toman led TU with 14 boards, five assists, three steals and two blocks. Prior to that, she led Tulsa in the season-opening win against New Orleans with five assists and three blocks.

Last Time Out: Big Fourth Quarter Pushes Tulsa to 75-67 Win Over HCU
  • Tulsa improved to 3-0 for the third time in the last five years after defeating Houston Christian
  • The Golden Hurricane iced the game with a decisive 29-point fourth quarter, capitalizing on 41 points off turnovers throughout the night.
  • Tulsa's defense would force 34 turnovers on the night, 10 of which came in the fourth quarter.
  • Peavy was one of four double-figure scorers for the Golden Hurricane on Thursday, finishing with 11 points for her first career game in double-digit territory. She also led TU with four assists, tying her freshman teammate Dora Toman.
  • Junior Mady Cartwright's 12 second-half points helped her finish with a team-high 15 points. Joining her in double-digit scoring were Peavy (11), Toman (10) and redshirt senior Hannah Riddick, who put up 12 points in her first game back exactly one year removed from a season-ending injury while playing for Memphis on November 13, 2024.

Cartwright Enjoys Career Night to Open the New Season
  • Mady Cartwright had the best performance of her career to begin her junior season on Wednesday's season-opener against New Orleans.
  • The guard from Greenwood, Ark., set new career-highs in points (26), steals (5), field goals made (9), field goals attempted (17) and 3-pointers made (6).
  • Cartwright's 26 points is tied for the most by an American Conference player in a single game through Saturday, November 8.

Mady Cartwright Poised for Big Junior Season
  • Returning guard Mady Cartwright is expected to make a big leap in 2025-26 as the American Conference head coaches have tabbed her a second team preseason all-conference player.
  • From Greenwood, Ark., Cartwright ended her sophomore season last year on a high note, scoring 10 or more points in the final seven games of the year to help push the Golden Hurricane to their third postseason in the last four seasons.
  • After starting in all 32 contests, Cartwright finished with averages of 10.5 points (336), 3.6 rebounds (116), 1.9 assists (61) and 1.5 steals (47) in 27.0 minutes per game.
  • Overall, Cartwright had 17 double-figure scoring games, including two 20+ point efforts, one double-figure rebounding contest and one double-double. She led Tulsa in steals for 10 games, assists in six contests, scoring on four occasions, and rebounds and blocks twice.

An International Take on Golden Hurricane Basketball
  • Tulsa's 2025-26 squad features seven international student-athletes on the 15-player roster.
  • No Angie Nelp team has ever had more than one player from outside the United States. She's also only had two international players in total before this season (Iceland's Elin Hrafnkelsdottir in 2021-22 and Spain's Queen Ikhiuwu in 2023-24).
  • This year, Layla-J Cameron (Gold Coast, Australia), Laura Di Stefano (Rome Italy), Abby Jegede (Toronto, Canada), Gina Nikola Pirjak (Jezera, Croatia), Hannah Riddick (Calgary, Alberta), Teresa Seppala (Tampere, Finland) and Dora Toman (Budapest, Hungary) are all set to don the Royal Blue and Old Gold for the first time this season.
  • Di Stefano (Italy), Seppala (Finland), Pirjak (Croatia) and Toman (Hungary) are the first players from their respective countries to play for the Golden Hurricane women's basketball team.
