
Women's Tennis Hosts Spring-Opening Hurricane Invite

TULSA, Okla. – Tulsa women's tennis starts their spring season off this weekend with three matches, hosting the Hurricane Invitational Jan. 17-18.
SEMO, Wyoming and Louisiana Tech will play in Tulsa this weekend, and all four schools will face each other on the indoor courts of the Michael D. Case Tennis Center through the two-day event.
Wyoming and Louisiana Tech have competed in the past two spring-opening Hurricane Invites, during which Tulsa has gone 6-0. The Golden Hurricane is 29-0 in season-opening home events dating back to the 2016-17 season.
Play starts at 9 a.m. CT both days, with Tulsa and SEMO open the event on Saturday, followed by the singles portion of the Tulsa-Louisiana Tech match. Sunday's slate features the doubles portion of the Hurricane's dual match with LA Tech, with the full Wyoming match following the conclusion of the second dual.

- Tulsa is returning sophomore Isabella Basson, junior Erin McKenzie, junior Saniya Singh and junior Tayla Wilmot.
- Newcomers include four freshman, Carolina Alonso, Uta Asakura, Alice Baba and Coral Valle, along with two transfers, sophomore Lilitha Ndungane and senior Maria Santos.
