BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — A hot shooting second half helped Tulsa pull away from UAB in a 99-77 win on Sunday at Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. The Golden Hurricane dominated the second half, shooting 20-for-29 (.690) from the field while hitting five threes. It's the program's first win in Bartow Arena after dropping the previous eight tries and the 99-point performance is the second most ever scored by a road team in Bartow Arena.
Miles Barnstable scored a season-high 25 points, converting six 3-pointers on 8-for-11 shooting from the field. David Green added 26 points, hitting 12-of-17 shots and collecting seven rebounds. Green became the first Golden Hurricane since P.J. Haggerty in 2023-24 to score 20 in three straight games.

Tulsa opened the first half with a strong start, scoring quickly off a Behrend layup assisted by Riley. They maintained momentum through the half with effective scoring in the paint, totaling 24 points, and benefited from key contributions off the bench, adding 7 points. Tulsa's defense was active, securing 19 rebounds and forcing the Blazers into 6 turnovers, which helped them maintain control of the game pace.
Despite the Blazers' efforts to keep pace, aided by their 10 points off turnovers, Tulsa's consistent scoring, including a late 3-pointer by Green at the buzzer, closed the half on a high note. The team led 46-37 at the end of the first half, setting a solid foundation for the remainder of the contest.
Tulsa capitalized on a strong start to the second half with Green's jumper at 19:41, extending their lead to 11 points. Consistent scoring from Riley and Behrend maintained the pressure on the Blazers, highlighted by a 9-point run that put the Golden Hurricane ahead 56–41 by the 17:01 mark. Defensively, Tulsa limited UAB's opportunities, allowing only a single field goal in several possessions.
Barnstable contributed significantly from beyond the arc, hitting two 3-pointers that pushed Tulsa's lead to 83–64 with just under seven minutes left. Tulsa continued to control the game, with efficient ball movement leading to multiple assists by Riley and Ade Popoola. The half concluded with Tulsa maintaining their advantage, finishing with a 99–77 victory over the Blazers.
Tulsa returns to the Reynolds Center to host Memphis on Wednesday with tip-off scheduled for 7 p.m.
