1/28/2026 11:03:00 PM | Men's Basketball

TULSA, Okla. — Just like last Wednesday, a huge late run led Tulsa to a 82-66 win over North Texas in the Reynolds Center. Tulsa closed the game on a 20-3 run over the final six minutes, not allowing a single field goal by the Mean Green. Tulsa has now won five straight after starting American Conference play 1-2.

Tylen Riley led Tulsa with 20 points, converting all seven of his free throw attempts and adding six rebounds. Miles Barnstable contributed 18 points, hitting two 3-pointers and going a perfect 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. Tyler Behrend added 10 points and collected seven rebounds, including five on the defensive end. David Green finished with 13 points and dished out three assists before fouling out.

Tulsa established an early advantage with Ade Popoola scoring on a layup and Green contributing with a three-pointer. Tulsa's defense forced turnovers and translated them into fast-break opportunities, including a dunk by Popoola, pushing the lead to 11–4.

The period saw Tulsa maintaining momentum through efficient shooting and ball movement, resulting in a balanced attack both inside the paint and from beyond the arc. Green's late three-pointer extended Tulsa's edge. The first half concluded with Tulsa leading North Texas, 33–28.

Tulsa began the second half with a strong offensive play, highlighted by Riley's 3-pointer assisted by Green at 19:39. This set the tone early, and Tulsa maintained control with efficient scoring in the paint. Defensive efforts were bolstered by multiple rebounds, with Tulsa outrebounding North Texas 19-to-11 in the half, which allowed for second-chance points.

Green and Barnstable played pivotal roles, contributing to a sustained lead with timely baskets and assists. Tulsa's strong performance from the free-throw line, converting 12 of 13 attempts, further extended their advantage. As the half progressed, Tulsa capitalized on turnovers and fast-break opportunities, finishing with a 49–38 edge in the half, maintaining a solid lead overall.

Wichita State comes to town on Sunday for 1 p.m. tip between two of the hottest teams in the conference.
