Women’s Tennis Heads on the Road for Matches against Arkansas and Kansas State

FAYETTEVILE, Ark. – Tulsa women's tennis will travel to Fayetteville, Ark., to face Arkansas on Friday before taking on Kansas State on Saturday. The matchup with the Wildcats will be the Golden Hurricane's first neutral-site contest of the season.
 
Scouting Arkansas
  • Arkansas enters Friday at 4-0 after sweeping a doubleheader against ORU with two 4-0 victories.
  • Tulsa owns 7-0 wins over Missouri State and Oral Roberts, both of which Arkansas also defeated by 4-0 scores.
  • The series record heavily favors the Razorbacks, with matches ending 27-8 in their favor since the 1979-80 season. The last match played was a 4-1 win for Tulsa at home in 2025.

  • Tulsa claimed a 4-3 victory in the most recent matchup in 2023.
  • The Golden Hurricane hold a 2-1 series advantage since 2021, with both Tulsa wins coming at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center and Kansas State's lone win occurring at its home facility.

  • Tulsa women's tennis fell to No. 6 Oklahoma (7-0), 7-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
  • The Sooners secured the doubles point early, winning on courts one and two. In the third doubles match, Tulsa's Lilitha Ndungane and Erin McKenzie battled back from a deficit to tie their match 4-4, then took the lead 5-4 before the match was abandoned.
  • In singles play, Oklahoma quickly extended its advantage with Barakat Quadre earning a 6–1, 6–2 victory over Uta Asakura at No. 6. Soon after, OU's Chloe Noel followed with a 6–3, 6–1 win against Santos on court two, while the Sooners added a 6–2, 6–3 decision over Basson in the first spot.
  • The Sooners continued to roll as Gloriana Nahum defeated Alice Baba 6–3, 6–3 at No. 4, and Laura Brunkel secured a 6–3, 7–5 win over Wilmot on court five. The match concluded at No. 3, where Edda Mamedova outlasted Alonso in a back-and-forth contest, 6(3)–7(7), 7(7)–6(3), 10–4.
